2013 Chalkboard Capers
Chalkboard Capers is a variety show presented annually by the teachers of the Mounds View Education Association. The goal is to raise money for student scholarships for graduating seniors from Irondale High School, Mounds View High School, Oak Grove High School, Area Learning Center, and Adult Basic Education. The Mounds View Education Association (MVEA) is the professional union for the 700+ teachers in the Mounds View District.
All performances will be held at Irondale High School.
The 2013 performance schedule is as follows:

Thursday, April 4th 6:30 PM
Friday, April 5th 6:30 PM
Saturday, April 6th 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM
Inaugural Rock the School House Event a Success!
On November 9, the inauguralRock the School House, a fundraising event supporting the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation, took place at the Silverwood Park Great Hall in Saint Anthony. Parents, educators and community leaders came together for a fun night of music, dancing and socializing. The Belfast Cowboys, a nine-piece Van Morrison cover band provided the entertainment.
The event raised almost $24,000, which will allow us to continue to support programs including Laurentian Environmental Center and the ACT Choice Initiative!

Partnering for Education Lunch a Huge Success
More than 160 community leaders attended MVSEF's lunch February 9th at the North Oaks Country Club. Dr. Robert Veninga, Professor Emeritus at the U of M's School of Public Health, presented "Resilience: What it is and why it matters," and Dan Hoverman, Superintendent of Mounds View Public Schools, spoke about new MVSEF-funded initiatives to prepare students for success beyond K-12.
